The Dubai Women’s Run, the biggest women’s sporting event in the Arab world, returns for its 9th edition on November 06, 2022 at Bluewaters Island in Dubai.

Organized by Plan b Group, in collaboration with the United Arab Emirates Athletics Federation and the Dubai Sports Council, the Dubai Women’s Run takes place

This year’s edition will have over 6,000 runners expected to register for the event in a 10k and 5k race with a fun 3k run/walk that will be open to women and girls aged 14 and more.

Major General Dr. Mohamed Abdullah Al Murr, President of the Emirates Athletics Federation, said: “The level of the race will be of a special nature, and it is expected to generate a great level of excitement. excitement and strong competition, in line with the vision of the Athletics Federation to achieve the development horizons of the game that reflect the desired aspirations, because the winner in the end is the woman who values ​​her prestigious position in society, and that women’s sport embodies women’s commitment to ensuring the integrity of mind and body, achieving a productive and happy life for herself and the community around her, enriching life and developing society and people , and achieve communication, coexistence and peace in society and around the world.

This year’s route will take runners around Bluewaters, a vibrant island destination and home to some of the city’s most original retail concepts and attractions. Attendees can soak up views of Dubai’s iconic skyline and the Arabian Gulf while soaring over the stylish neighborhood and quintessential past experiences. Entertainment activities for the whole family will take place alongside the event which will include cultural performances, children’s activities, food and beverage booths, and a DJ to liven up the atmosphere for the duration of the event.

A regular feature on the UAE’s sports calendar since 2010, the Dubai Women’s Run returns for the first time since the Covid pandemic hit. It aims to encourage women of all ages and walks of life to adopt a healthier lifestyle. Popular Bollywood actor Sunjay Dutt has confirmed his support for the event, along with other civic organizations that will participate in the race to support charitable causes in the UAE.

Her Excellency Nasser Aman Al Rahma, Deputy Secretary General of the Dubai Sports Council, welcomed the participants and said: “We are today announcing the organization of the ninth edition of the Dubai Women’s Run next November, which is the most important event in the world of women’s running that brings together amateurs and professionals of different categories, which will be organized this year in a unique tourist area that shines in Dubai and attracts the attention of the world, namely Blue Waters Island, where the competitors will take place in different streets of the island, and the start and conclusion will be next to “Ain Dubai” the largest of its kind in the world. The event has reached the ninth edition after winning many great successes in the eight editions.In the past, where the number of participants in the eighth edition has reached nearly 5,000, and the number of the ninth edition is expected to reach more than 6,000 participants of different categories.

He added: “We are happy that women of various nationalities, including amateurs and professionals, are taking part in the race, and that among the participants are runners from our national team in the 10 km category, where they will compete international riders and be an opportunity to develop the level and continue to compete in different competitive races.”

Since taking over the reins of the race in 2017, Plan b Group has made the event the biggest women’s race in the Arab world and propelled it to a stature that has placed it among the top running competitions in the most popular feet on the international sports scene.
